Raspberry Pi: Information Display Blog #10: ………

Backlogs

  • Throughout the semester they were multiple backlogs created by group leaders with my name with a specific task due. The backlog I created was for the gallery page on the website where Keena, Gabriel and I were assigned a different task.

Presentation

  • I was assigned chapters 5 Graph Resource Names and 6 Launch Files from the online ROS documents provided by Dr. Hatley. Each member was given a specific deadline to have things done by and we would add our sections into the final power point

Technical Report

  • I was given the task of the group leader for this report, everyone was given a certain task and a deadline to turn it in so I could piece everything together for the final article. It was multiple discrepancies about how much effort I had put into the report but I was on there from when I said everyone was supposed to have everything turned in which was about 12-1pm and I stayed working on it with Dr. Hatley until about 5, then logged back on around 7 to make sure everything was done so it can be sent to Anil.

Midterm

  • The group consisted of Javon, Rufus, and I. I was given the task of creating a pseudocode for the different types of controllers. I chose to do Pick Up Controller which I turned in on March 19th at 11:37pm.

Lego Mindstorms

  • I was in the group with Anil and Gabriel, we worked collectively has a unit. Anil was programming savvy and I enjoy working with my hands so I gave ideas mainly such as pieces to use for the claws, and to use wheels instead of what was previously on the robot. They stayed after class multiple times impromptu without informing me so yes I was left out to an extent but I still pulled my weight when it was in class.

Below I have text messages, work files, photos of work I have done throughout the semester in no specific order

Raspberry Pi: Information Display Blog: #9 The Final Grade

‘t I am not pleased with my final grade at all. I feel as though I earned/should be given a C for multiple reason. From the beginning of the class I know I didn’t work as well as other colleagues in their opinion but when it came to group assignments I did part ranging from the backlog to lego mind storms, I always pulled my weight, Dr. Hatley said she did the grading rubric from how the team leader said I done, but I have files showing I did my work. I have only missed about three class sessions from the beginning of the semester, so yes I took the class seriously. Dr. Hatley granted us the opportunity to do a project but it just wasn’t enough time, in total it was 3.5 weeks roughly, the first half was dealing with a broken mother board, then when we was given another mother board it was still issues that we were trying to resolve but once again it wasn’t enough time. Focusing on finals, graduation and working. I am honestly not trying to make excuses at all. I will take full responsibility for not blogging in a timely manner. But for us to receive a project and wasn’t able to finish it because the semester ended just don’t think we should be penalized. Granted the actual project wasn’t fully completed but I learned a lot that will help me in the near future. I learned time management, how to work a Raspberry Pi properly, how to upload an Operating System and how much space is needed to do so. I learned how to implement source codes, who to use excel to create a bill of materials, soldering and so much more.

(Also the assignment was suppose to be bring me from a F to a C so completion of the project would raise the grade 2 letter grades, but lego mind storms raised the grade to a D so the amount of work and trail and error, and all the things I we learned through the assignment should make the final grade a C, I could be wrong though)

Raspberry Pi: Information Display Blog: #8 The End

So sadly even though we were sent videos and searched for videos we still was not successful. I wouldn’t say because we didn’t try but just because of the timing, every time Keena and I met we spent about 2-3 hours trying to figure this project out looking up questions and what not, mind you it was the end of the semester and finals and graduations was one of priorities at this time, next to the project. Dr. Hatley decided yesterday it would be best to end the project because no progress was mad. we will be meeting with her sometime this week to discuss what will be the following steps.
